Excel Electric, Inc. was proud to provide the complete electrical construction package for the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Illinois – a premier aquatic facility designed to host elite swim competitions while serving the surrounding community year-round.
Developed to hold major swim competitions, the 71,000-square-foot natatorium provides one of the state’s premier indoor aquatics venues. The facility supports everything from elite-level competition to swim lessons, training, fitness, and community recreation.


Complete Electrical Construction Package
Excel Electric’s scope included the installation of:
- Primary and secondary power distribution systems
- Branch power throughout the facility
- LED lighting systems and lighting controls
- Emergency and egress lighting systems
- Equipment power connections throughout the natatorium
The project required extensive coordination and installation of electrical infrastructure supporting:
- The Olympic-size competition pool
- Spectator seating areas
- Locker rooms and support spaces
- Administrative offices and conference areas
- Concessions and community spaces
Excel Electric also provided power and coordination for specialized natatorium systems, including:
- Pool equipment systems
- Dehumidification systems
- Scoreboards and timing systems
- Aquatic support equipment critical to maintaining a high-performance competition environment
Working closely with the project team, Excel Electric’s in-house BIM/VDC department assisted with coordination and layout to help navigate the facility’s complex overhead systems while maintaining project schedule requirements.

The completed FMC Natatorium now serves as one of Illinois’ premier indoor swimming venues, capable of hosting major regional and state-level aquatic events while also supporting year-round training, recreation, and community use.
